Why the Sawgrass beats I-95 from here

Parkland sits far enough west that the coastal route makes little sense. Cutting east to I-95 means fighting Atlantic Boulevard or Sample Road crosstown traffic before the highway even starts; the Sawgrass-to-595 line stays wide and moving. The exceptions we route around: weekday mornings between 7 and 9, when the 595 eastbound merge near the airport slows, and the occasional incident that turns the Sawgrass into a parking lot — in which case University Drive is the fallback spine. Tolls on the expressway are already inside your fixed quote, so routing is the driver’s problem, never yours.

Pickup logistics in a gated town

Most Parkland addresses sit behind a gate — Heron Bay, Parkland Golf and Country Club, the newer communities off Loxahatchee Road. This is routine for us: put the community name and any gate instructions on the booking, and the driver calls ahead if the guardhouse needs a resident confirmation. Allow two extra minutes; that is genuinely all it takes when it is arranged in advance rather than negotiated at 5 a.m. through an intercom.

School-run traffic is the other local wrinkle. Pickups between 7:15 and 8:00 a.m. near the school corridors move slower than the map claims, and we pad for it.

For domestic flights we schedule pickup about two hours and 45 minutes before departure — 35 minutes of driving, two hours at the terminal, small cushion. Terminals, for your booking notes: Southwest and United at 1, Delta at 2, JetBlue and American at 3, Spirit and most international at 4.
